casing หรือ ท่อกรุเนี้ย ในวงการเราเรียกว่าเป็น OCTG ซึ่งย่อมาจาก Oil Country Tubular Goods พอแปลออกมาแล้วก็งงๆ สินค้าท่อประเทศน้ำมัน หุหุ ช่างมันเถอะ เวลาได้ยินคนพูดถึง OCTG ก็ให้คิดถึงไอ้ท่อพวกนี้ casing tubing อะไรเทือกๆนี้

ในการผลิตท่อพวกนี้เนี้ยจะทำออกมาแบบไม่มีรอยต่อ หรือที่เรียกว่า seamless ตัดเกลียวตัวผู้ออกมาทั้งสองด้าน แล้วก็ทำข้อต่อด้วยโลหะชนิดเดียวกันที่เรียกว่า coupling ที่เป็นตัวเมียทั้งสองด้าน ขันติดก่อนออกจากโรงงานลงเรือมาให้พวกเราใช้ ดังนั้น พอมาถึงท่าเรือเรา เราก็จะเห็นท่อพวกนี้มีเกลียวตัวผู้ด้านหนึ่ง ตัวเมียด้านหนึ่ง ซึ่งจริงๆแล้วเกลียวตัวเมียเป็นเกลียวของข้อต่อ

อารมณ์ประมาณว่าถ้างานประปา งานไฟฟ้า พื้นๆปกติ ไม่มีอะไรพิเศษก็ให้ผู้รับเหมาหลักที่สร้างบ้านทำไป แต่ถ้าเป็นงานไฟฟ้า ประปา งานระบบที่มีความละเอียด สเป็ดพิเศษ ต้องการงานดี ก็จ้างช่างเฉพาะทางมา อะไรประมาณนั้นครับ ขึ้นกับว่างานท่อกรุนั้นมันพื้นๆหรือต้องการงานเนี้ยบ
